A Great Trip Planning Tool: The Restaurant Search Tool of the Disney Food Blog

It's no secret that one of my favorite Disney planning websites is the Disney Food Blog. Author AJ Wolfe has provided all of us a wonderful and comprehensive resource to learn everything there is to know about dining at Walt Disney World. At the same time, AJ's website and now her new e-book are invaluable tools to help plan ADRs and other foodie checklists for our trips.

Recently while perusing her site for story information, I came across her Restaurant Search Tool. This is such a handy online application; I just had to tell you about it.

It's very simple to operate. There are a number of sections with checkboxes; just click on the appropriate selections and the website will present you just the information you are looking for.

For example, what if you were searching for a table service restaurant, with a European flair, moderate prices and which is a Disney Food Blog favorite? You will be presented with two choices, Rose and Crown at England in Epcot and Raglan Road Irish Pub in Downtown Disney.

How about a dining location with outdoor seating, good for small children and on the Disney Dining Plan? In this case there are seven choices including Casey's Corner in the Magic Kingdom and Mickey's Backyard BBQ in Fort Wilderness.

There are many categories to select from including: Restaurant Type, Location (Parks, Downtown or Resorts), Cuisine Type, Meal Times, Character Meals, Service Type, Alcohol, Unique Experiences, Seating Options, DDP acceptance and more. Plus, you can check off multiple selections among and within the topic areas.

Once you discover matches to your selections, you can then dig deeper into your finds. When you click on the icon in your list, it brings you to the information section of her site that is all about your choice. So if you wanted to know more about Chef Mickey's, for example, you get to read a summary of the location with each of its key topic areas indicated plus menu and special information. In addition, you get links to articles and posts from the DFB archives that include restaurant and meal reviews and guest feedback.

This is a very cool place to help plan your vacation and those all-important restaurant ADRs. Check it out (; not only will you not be disappointed but I know you'll return time and time again.
